Website Design Project Process

A typical web design project at Synergy Kinetics is usually carried out in five phases as outlined below.

PHASE 1: PROJECT INITIATION

The objective of this phase is to brainstorm and share regarding the web design and development project; identify objectives and roles.

PHASE 2: COLLECTION OF DATA

In this phase, material for the website would be collected according to the guidelines in Phase 1. This material includes all documents for pages or downloadable material and corresponding images and any related files. Please read the file submissions information for a guide on how to submit project files.

PHASE 3: WEBSITE CONSTRUCTION AND TESTING

In this phase the website will be constructed and tested to ensure it is running according to specifications by the web developer.

PHASE 4: WEBSITE REVIEW & PUBLICATION

In this phase, the client(yourself) reviews the website to ensure it is according to specifications and expectations before clearing it to be made available to the general public online. At the end of Phase 4, the website will be assigned to its web address after which it will be accessible on the internet to the general public.

PHASE 5: WEBSITE HANDOVER

After establishing that the website has been constructed and is functioning as per established requirements, the website will be handed over to the client.

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

The client should provide the material listed below for timely web design project delivery. Please note that the client needs to provide the content and all material that goes on the website and that these materials need to be provided in time for the project to be completed on schedule.

REQUIRED MATERIALS
ITEM DESCRIPTION NOTES
1 Content Material The articles or text for each of the information pages.
2 Images for content These images are to accompany the content material in the web pages to make them more appealing and interesting. Please provide notes to indicate on which pages the images are intended.
3 Logo  
4 Images for Banner/Slideshow Images specifically developed for slideshow to convey targeted messages. The images should be adequately wide to stretch across the home page.
5 Videos Videos to be added to the site, if available. Please not that extremely large videos are not suitable for publishing on the web
6 Files for download The files to be made available for download on the web site, such as pamphlets etc, if any
7 Social Network Information Provide details for Facebook and Twitter or Linked In accounts.

DELIVERABLES AND LEAD TIMES

Typical website design/development may take a period of between 2 and 4 weeks and depending on the nature of the project, project deliverables and lead times will very as per project according to a time allocation to the following factors.

  2. Site Template Design
  3. Creating of core site with required  features and adding content
  4. Quality Assurance Control: Testing and Debugging to Ensure that the site is running seamlessly
  5. Client Review: Feedback and Changes
  6. Hosting and Site Publication
  7. Site Handover
